Ultra-Modern Book Review of Up Up You Go Jo!
Written by Mariam Shapera and Illustrated by i Cenizal
“Up, Up You Go, Jo!” is a story about a boy named Jo who freestyles a song on his piano one blustery night. After falling asleep, he wakes up to find all the musical notes missing from his music sheet. He suspects they flew out the window and into space, so he floats up with ten balloons to retrieve them.
On Jo’s space adventure, he encounters amazing sights like a one-eyed alien, an astronaut, and shooting stars. However, the most incredible sight was the sight of his musical notes floating in space. After a tiring search, Jo’s balloons begin to descend, and he eventually falls asleep. When he wakes up in bed, he sees his musical notes on his music sheet and wonders if it was all just a dream.
Up, Up You Go, Jo is a charming bedtime musical adventure written by Mariam Shapera. Jo’s determination to find his song is admirable, and I can relate to this delightful tale. Yesterday, I lost my remote, and for a moment, I thought it might have flown up to space with Jo’s music notes, but thankfully, I found it under my dresser. This heartwarming story speaks to the imaginative minds of children and is sure to inspire sweet dreams of space, balloons, music, and amusement parks in your little ones each night.
